Two away wins since a season-opening 17-0 victory over the Coventry Jets at the Atherstone Sports Hub in April see the Phoenix sit atop of the BAFANL Premiership North Conference standings, having beat the Sheffield Predators and Lancashire Wolverines by scores of 21-8 and 17-10.

“The Lancashire Wolverines were a great opponent last week, over whom a victory was a great achievement as the team continues to build. It was great to have such fantastic support at the Atherstone Sports Hub last time out and we’ll be hoping to give ‘Nix Nation another win and a great game to enjoy.” Said Tamworth Phoenix chairman James Hossack.

Fresh from the battle of the only previous remaining undefeated teams in the Premiership North, the Phoenix will look to meet the charge of a Yorkshire Rams team intent on grasping their second win of the season.

But a continuous, open door recruitment, in which the team welcomes players of all experience levels in American Football, has seen the team bolstered by new recruits. Consequently, the Phoenix offense has continued to heat up alongside a havoc-wreaking defense.

Like at our prevous home game against Coventry, I look forward to seeing friends, families and more new faces come down to Atherstone to cheer us on and see us continue our winning start to the season.”

With the Tamworth Phoenix Youth team also training at the Atherstone Sports Hub on gameday, a BBQ after the match and a bar at the clubhouse for snack and drinks, Sunday’s game is a great opportunity to enjoy ‘Nix Gameday with friends and family of all ages. 2.30pm KO, free admission.
