The Tamworth Phoenix are inviting companies to join the #R1SE as part of a constructive sponsorship initiative, supporting the community American Football program’s pursuit of higher standards on the field and in benefitting local communities.
The initiative involves a flexible approach for a company to develop its outreach and brand. Three types of partnership opportunity; ‘Program’, ‘Team’ and ‘Athlete’, create the opportunity to partner with the aspect/s of the Phoenix program that most complements business goals and/or values.
- Athlete – Associate with an individual athlete.
- Team – Partner with the Phoenix adult, under-19, under-17 or under-14 flag teams.
- Program – Collaborate with community outreach as part of the Phoenix-family.
#NixNation (PHamily; players, coaches/volunteers, fans) are encouraged to utilise the official company sponsorship information form to approach businesses that they believe would be a fit for a company sponsorship.
“As we’re out and about in the community; in schools, doing charity work, the partnerships look to build a long-term partnership around that kind of community initiative.” Said Tamworth Phoenix Director of Operations Daniel Norgrove. “The partnerships will provide links with ourselves as a community program and with local community businesses, developing outreach, events etc.”
On the field, the Phoenix adult and under-17 teams are in the midst of preparing for the 2016 season and respective bids to win a Brit Bowl national championship. Having welcomed back under-19 American Football to the Tamworth Phoenix program for the team’s affiliate year in 2016, under-14 flag football sessions have also been established with thanks to a previous under-17 player.
Off the field, Phoenix volunteers are developing community-oriented outreach. More local schools are experiencing American Football PE lessons with the Phoenix Schools Programme, whilst South Staffordshire College pupils are gaining works experience through a Student Experience Programme. Alongside community events, it is this kind of innovative outreach that companies are invited to collaborate around.
“I’m excited about the Schools Programme’s contribution to the overall development of the Phoenix, whilst developing children’s interest in American Football will increase the profile of the game as a whole.” Said Football Development Officer Olly Powell. “The ultimate goal is creating a thriving community within the local area.”
The Phoenix adult team’s season begins with clashes against Premiership North Division rivals, travelling to Scotland’s East Kilbride Pirates on May 1st before the home opener against the Lancashire Wolverines on May 8th. With the season quickly approaching, companies will benefit from establishing partnerships before American Football action touches down at the Atherstone Sports Hub (CV9 1LX).
